Ethics and Sustainability

Ethics and Sustainability

With so much ‘green washing’ in the fashion industry, creating a brand that is transparent in its ethics and sustainability choices is key for Littlest Dreamers. I know that I have a long way to go on my sustainability journey, however, what I can promise you is that I will be open and honest with you each and every step of the way. Every decision I make has the earth and its people in mind.

I am still learning, and will continue to strive for a better future for all of the Littlest Dreamers. In order to make this brand as ethical and sustainable as it can be, I need your help! As the brand grows, so does its level of sustainability. I am proud of the start I have made and I aim to only improve as this brand grows.

I will offer you all of the information behind the choices that have been made so far and my plans for a more sustainable future. That way, you can decide if this brand is ethical and sustainable enough for you, and, if it is something you would like to support the growth of. You have so much power in the way you choose to spend your money and I want everyone to be confident in their choice with Littlest Dreamers.

With all that being said, it’s time to dive a little deeper into our ethical and sustainability journey so far.

ETHICS

Littlest Dreamers uses two manufacturers. One is located in India and the other in China. In choosing these manufactures a lot of open communication was undergone to ensure that they could uphold the ethical and sustainable practices I want to support with Littlest Dreamers. This included being sent all of their documentation regarding safe working conditions and fare wages.

SUSTAINABILITY
Here are the choices toward a sustainable future that have been made so far.

-Oeko tex certified non-toxic dyes
-Material choices: Organic cotton, Linen, Organic Cotton fill
- Plastic free compostable postage bags
- Cardboard and recycled cardboard packaging
- Our Indian Manufacturer uses solar power and the waste-water from the dye

process is fed back to the crops.

- Gender-neutral designs to allow each item to be passed down through family and to friends.

-Multifunctional styles
- Generous stretch for longevity in the Unity Romper

Future Dreaming

- We are working towards GOTS certification being printed on our labels and packaging. We are currently using GOTS certified cotton,

however, we can only print this on packaging once the order quantity increases.

- Incorporating Hemp material
- Increasing the amount Littlest Dreamers is able to give back.

This is a brief snapshot as I’m sure you don’t want to be reading for days and I honestly could write a short novel on this! There is so much that has gone into each of these choices and I welcome you to reach out if you would like to know more or if you have any feedback. You can contact me at: hello@littlestdreamers.com

Only love, Anthea xxx
